This original 1940s service pattern 'Up To Your Neck' comes from a Bestway 74 knitting pamplet 'Woolies for Wardens'. It is one of several fabulous garments from the booklet, which can be found in the collection of the Knitting and Crochet Guild - whose collection is a fantastic resource for vintage patterns.
As a personal donation, all proceeds from this downloadable PDF pattern will go towards their work in bringing people together through craft and preserving the heritage of these traditional skills. Sign up to my newsletter for updates.
As this is an original vintage pattern, and from my own experience making it, I highly recommend testing your gauge and reading ahead to ensure that the measurements at each stage of the project are right for you. Adjustments may be required. The first page of instructions leads on to the right-hand side of the next. Ignore the paragraph titled 'the man in the Street'. This belongs to another pattern from the Woolies for Wardens booklet. I recommend a DK weight yarn to achieve gauge.
Thank you and enjoy!
